Shrek

Shrek is a grumpy, solitary ogre whose swamp is suddenly invaded by every fairy-tale character in the kingdom — banished there by the tiny, vain Lord Farquaad. To get his swamp back, Shrek reluctantly agrees to rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded castle. He's joined by a chatty Donkey who refuses to leave his side. What starts as a transactional quest becomes a story about love, prejudice, and self-acceptance. For English learners: A2 level. Mostly American English with Shrek's strong Scottish accent and Donkey's fast-talking American voice. Fairy-tale vocabulary is used throughout. Speech pace is moderate.
